Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Rivit ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms are a legally binding agreement between you and Rivit.

2. The Service

Rivit is a Windows desktop application designed for daily accountability. The Service includes:

• Goal setting with customizable focus categories
• Daily check-ins evaluated to determine whether goals have been met
• Site and application blocking at the system level to reduce distractions
• Weekly and monthly review tools to track progress over time

Rivit is intended to help you stay focused on your goals. It is not a substitute for professional coaching, therapy, or medical advice.

3. Accounts

To use Rivit, you must create an account. By creating an account, you agree to the following:

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
• Provide accurate and complete information during registration.
• Keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• If you suspect unauthorized access, contact support@userivit.com immediately.

Rivit reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Subscription and Billing

Rivit offers a 14-day free trial for new users. After the trial, continued use requires a paid subscription.

• Monthly plan: $2 per month
• Annual plan: $15 per year

A third-party payment processor handles all payments securely. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges at the applicable rate until you cancel.

You can cancel your subscription at any time through the app's account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Rivit does not offer partial-period refunds.

5. Acceptable Use

Use Rivit for its intended purpose and in compliance with all applicable laws. The following are prohibited:

• Do not abuse, overload, or interfere with the Service's API or infrastructure.
• Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or disassembling any part of the application is prohibited.
• The Service may only be used for lawful purposes.
• Do not attempt to bypass subscription restrictions or access controls.
• Each account is for one person. Do not share your credentials or let others use your account.
• All check-in content must be truthful. Do not submit false, misleading, or harmful content.

Rivit reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts found in violation of these terms.

6. The Blocking Feature

Rivit includes a site and application blocking feature that operates at the system level on Windows. This feature:

• Activates only based on your configured settings and chosen sites or apps
• Modifies the system hosts file to block access to specified websites
• Monitors running processes to terminate blocked applications
• Can be disabled at any time via the built-in kill switch

By using the blocking feature, you acknowledge that it makes changes to your system configuration. Rivit is not responsible for data loss, productivity impact, system instability, or other consequences resulting from the blocking feature. Use of this feature is at your own risk.

7. Check-in Evaluation

A third-party AI service evaluates daily check-ins to determine whether your reported actions meet your stated goals. By using this feature, you acknowledge that:

• Evaluations are automated assessments, not professional advice.
• Results may not always reflect the full context of your efforts.
• Do not treat evaluations as a substitute for personal judgment, professional coaching, or medical guidance.
• Rivit sends check-in content to a third-party AI provider for processing.

8. Limitation of Liability

Rivit provides the Service without warranties, express or implied. The product works as described on this site, but results depend on how you use it.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rivit and its owner, operators, and affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. This includes loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption arising from your use of the Service.

For all claims related to the Service, Rivit's total liability is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the event in question.

9. Changes to Terms

Rivit may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When that happens, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change, and Rivit will notify you at the email address on your account.

If you continue using the Service after updates take effect, you accept the revised terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.
